In July 2024 and February 2025, students at Brightstar Integrated Secondary School have been engaged in scientific innovation activities. Notably, two of their projects involved repurposing sugarcane rind to create a modern fibre box—showcasing creative and Computer coding whereby students have developed a web application which aim to interact between student and school, hands-on innovation in STEM learning.

The two students who were involved in the project of Web application project at STEM were awarded prizes by the County of Turkana, Department of Education for their achivement in Computer Science at the county level.
