Brightstar Integrated Secondary School, nestled in the heart of the Kalobeyei Settlement within Village 1, Pelekech Zone, stands as a beacon of hope and education in a region marked by resilience and diversity. Situated approximately 22 kilometers from Kakuma Town, the school was founded in 2019 with the noble purpose of providing quality education to both refugee and host community students in Village 1.

Brightstar Integrated Secondary School has grown to serve a vibrant and diverse student body. The school initially opened its doors to 233 students, with a notable gender distribution of 190 males and 43 females. The majority of these students hail from South Sudan, reflecting the predominant refugee population in the area. However, the school's student body is a mosaic of cultures and nationalities, including Sudanese, Kenyans, Somalis, Ethiopians, Congolese, Burundians, Rwandese, and Tanzanians.

Brightstar Integrated Secondary School has successfully navigated its first major academic milestone by administering its inaugural national examination in 2023. This marked a significant achievement for the school and its students, reflecting years of hard work and dedication from both educators and learners. The 2023 national examination served as a crucial benchmark, not only assessing the academic progress of the students but also showcasing the school’s commitment to academic excellence.
